Frequently asked questions
Does streaming to several platforms at once hurt quality?
No, provided the upload link has the bandwidth and each platform receives the settings it actually supports. The common failure is pushing one high-quality feed everywhere and letting the weakest platform choke it. The fix is encoding per destination, plus measuring real upload speed on site before the broadcast.
What has to be ready at the venue?
At minimum: a wired network connection, backup power, stable lighting, and separately captured audio rather than the camera's built-in microphone. Of those four, bad audio is what makes viewers leave fastest, so it is checked before the picture is.
What if the connection drops mid-stream?
Important broadcasts run two independent links, typically one cable and one mobile connection, with hardware that switches over when the primary fails. That is paired with a fallback script for the host, so a technical gap does not turn into dead air on the broadcast.
Can pre-recorded video be reused?
Yes, and it should be. Stable content such as product introductions or how-to segments is better recorded in advance and played in: quality stays even and the host carries less load. Keep the live portion for questions and closing sales — the part pre-recorded video cannot replace.
How is a broadcast measured?
Concurrent viewers only describe reach. The metrics that show effectiveness are average watch time, comments relative to viewers, orders closed during and after the stream, and how many people return for the next one. Post-production reporting is built around that set.
